This is the story of the Bean Counter, who fell in love with the Green Thumb, and they produced two beautiful little sprouts.

Sleeping Through the Night - Again!
Ok, so the weekend experiement seems to have worked. We let Michael cry it out Friday night (3 times), Saturday night (3 times), and Sunday night (once). Each time he cried was no longer than 10 minutes. Monday night and last night he didn't cry once! Woo hoo! A full night's sleep has returned!! Another big milestone happened yesterday too. He pulled himself up to his feet from a crawling position. He was trying to get around some barstools that we had placed behind the couch to block him from getting to the dog dishes. Well, he decided to try to climb over them. He grabbed one of the foot bars and pulled himself right up! Of course he doesn't realize he needs to hang on to keep from falling, so he let go & plopped to his butt before I could get a picture! We were so proud!!

Hello tooth #2!
I knew it wasn't going to be long, and sure enough, it is here! MJ's second tooth! We noticed it last night, and boy, you can sure tell that our boy feels better! He was all smiles yesterday when I picked him up from daycare, and he put his arms out to me and waved them like crazy! Yay!! Glad to have my happy boy back! He still has a touch of a cough, but it doesn't seem to bother him. He also still isn't sleeping like he used to though. He cried 4 times after we put him to bed last night, and went back to sleep right away after we gave him his pacifier. We are gonna try to let him cry it out this weekend, because he is old enough now to learn how to comfort himself and go back to sleep on his own. He knows how to pick up his pacifier and put it in his own mouth, so we need to try to get him to do that at night! Mama and Papa need their sleep too! It's gonna be hard to let him cry, and we obviously won't let it go on for long, but we are gonna give it a whirl.

Hot! Hot! Hot!
Poor Mike has been working hard with his business, and putting up with 90 degree heat. It has been very hot and muggy, which makes his days long and exhausting. Thankfully he had a rain day last week, which gave him a break, but then he had to work on Saturday to make up some lost time! He also has some help now to take off some of the load. Our nephew Alex starting working with him at the beginning of the month. Uncle Mike is really working him hard, but they are getting a lot accomplished. He is still getting out and golfing, but I am sure it is not as much as he would like!
Where's my Happy boy?
Teething is not fun! Now that tooth #1 is here, it looks like the others are not far behind. That makes for a very cranky baby. We haven't getting too many smiles lately. On top of that, he has been fighting a cold. He has had a runny nose and a cough for about a week, and then this weekend he actually developed a fever. It also didn't help that we had a thunderstorm that woke him up Monday night. He REFUSED to go back to sleep, and so mama and papa lost a couple hours of sleep too. His temp was normal Tuesday, so he went to G&G Willings' for the day. He was still sluggish at times though. Last night he was a little better, but he woke up three times during the night wanting his binky. We hope he is back to sleeping through the night very soon! His mood did seem much better this morning, and he was babbling like crazy, so I am anxious for the report from his "teachers" when I pick him up this afternoon.

First tooth!
Yep, it has finally arrived! Michael has his first tooth! It seems like he has been teething FOREVER! It is the bottem left tooth. We noticed it at bedtime, so it either poked through the night before, or sometime during the day. YAY!

We have a crawler!
Well, it is more like an army crawl, or an inch worm scoot, but he definitely has forward movement! I will post a video of this in the video section. We have had to officially start baby-proofing the house, starting with plugging up the electrical outlets, and making sure the cords to the window blinds are out of reach. He also had his first experience in a big pool since my last update, and I added pictures of the event. He absolutely loves "swimming." He has a floatie, but prefers to be held, so he can get his whole body in, and splash with his hands. Papa has even dunked his head under water a couple of times, and he doesn't seem to mind. There are videos of this in the video section also. I think he is finally going to have a tooth in the next couple of days! You can feel a sharp point with your finger if you feel his gums. It won't be long, and I am sure our little man will be happy to get teeth. He wants to eat "big people" food so bad, but only gets baby food so far.
