Fair Time!

We went to the fair last night. It was hot and muggy, which put Michael in a bit of a cranky mood, but we got through it! I took tons of pics, but then my camera died. The only one I have to share right now is the one I took off my cell phone. Once I get a chance to charge the camera battery, I will post the rest! This one is Michael enjoying his first ever corndog!

Slip 'n' Slide

It has been pretty hot and muggy lately, so last night we brought out a slip 'n' slide for Michael (Thanks Aunt Jen and the Kahlenbeck family!) He loved it!

Here, he was not sure yet what to do.Photobucket

Playset Completed!

Here are some "in progress" photos of the construction. I thought I had a picture of it complete, but nope. I will try to get one posted soon. Michael loves it! I was surprised that his favorite part is the swings. I thought it would be that cool slide!

Just getting started

Summer is Here!

Wow, I can't believe how fast time is getting away from me! I swear it was just Spring! Lot's of exciting things happening. We bought Michael a backyard playset, and daddy has been putting it together, slowly but surely. I don't think he had any idea how time consuming it was going to be. So far he has the main structure built, along with the spiral tube slide. He is now starting on the swingset side. The ladders and rock wall are not done yet, so we have placed a small step ladder by the platform so Michael can climb up that to use the slide. He loves it so far. Hopefully in the next week or so, it will be completely done!

We are also preparing for the big wedding coming in September. The first of the showers for Tanya & Mike will be July 26th, which will be held at our house. We are trying to prepare the yard, and try to make it look nice for our guests, but we are running out of time. We are praying for nice weather so we can spend as much time outside as possible. It might be a little snug inside our home if we have to move the festivities indoors.

I am excited about some of my family coming into town for the holiday. Our family from Texas will be arriving here on Thursday, and will be staying through the weekend. I always enjoying seeing all of them, so I am looking forward to that!

Some things we have done recently that I forgot to mention (due to my lack of staying updated here!) are: 1) We went to see a local production at the Elco Theater called "Aladdin Jr.", 2) We went to the Morris Performing Arts to see "Go, Diego, Go Live!", and 3) We started taking Michael to swim lessons at the YMCA. He has thoroughly enjoyed all of them, and we have one more event coming up in August. We are going to see Thomas the Train! It is a life-size replica of Thomas, and you actually take a 20-minute ride in his passenger cars, and there are tons of activities at the station. Michael has no idea we are doing it, and he is going to love it! He loves playing with his Thomas trains, and asks to watch Thomas on TV all the time. It will also be around my mom's birthday, and she is coming with us, so that will make it special too!

Tag Your It!

I was tagged on a friend's blog! When you get tagged, you are supposed to respond to the questions posted on the other person's blog. Then, you tag more people and ask others to do the same on their blogs. Kinda fun!

Top five things you enjoy about summer:

1. Sitting on the back deck with Mike, with a cold drink, talking and watching Michael play.
2. Taking Michael to the fair, park, zoo, etc.
3. Being able to walk/run outside, instead of on the treadmill all the time.
4. Barbeques!
5. Watching all the different flowers bloom at different times.

I tag Renae.
