Today

The weather:  Right now it's sunny & 43, high of 47. It snowed yesterday!  WTH??

Plans for this week: Plan out some fun activities for the summer.

I am wearing: Jeans (duh), long-sleeved tee, K Swiss sneakers

I am feeling:  A little tired, and still trying to be completely rid of this 6-week cold that keeps hanging on!

I am hearing:  The radio.  Current song playing: Snow Patrol "Chasing Cars"

I am thankful for:  e-mealz.com

I am wondering why:  I can't lose weight.  Oh, wait.  Yes I do.  It's called Chocolate.

I am contemplating:  When I am going to get my workout with Jillian in tonight.

MJ:  He has officially had one week of zero potty accidents!!  He has actually had only 1 accident in 2 weeks!  Hopefully I have bought my last package of Pull Ups!  As for his behavior, we still have good days and bad days with his little attitude, and his lack of listening skills.  It can be quite stressful on all of us.  We are trying new things everyday, so I am hoping something clicks here soon.

Mike: He is thrilled that the season is back in swing!  He is hoping for his best year yet, depsite the horrible economy.

Me:  Not much going on.  I am preparing for a garage sale in May.  I can't wait!  I think traffic at garage sales are going to be heavier this year, as more people are trying to save money and buy used!!

For dinner tonight:  Beef roast that has been in the crock pot all day.  With potatoes and carrots.  Yum!

A photo:  Not really a photo.  But this is in honor of Michigan State.  The only Big 10 team to make it to the Final Four!  Go Spartans!!

Circus!

Today, we went to a circus.  Well, I use the term "circus" very loosely.  It was inside the arena at the County Fairgrounds.  There were lions, tigers, elephants, a camel, 2 horses, some pony's, and some dogs.  They also had jugglers, clowns, a trapeze girl, and a couple of guys on a trampoline.  All the ingredients for a circus, but it just seemed to fall short for me.  We had gone to a circus in neighboring town a couple of years ago, and it blew this one out of the water.  It also was very expensive for what it offered, and they tried to peddle their wares to you non-stop.  Popcorn, peanuts, coloring books, lighted toys, stuffed animals, food, etc.   Other than the admission cost, we spent $12 on the elephant ride, and $5 on a blow-up Spiderman.  I refused to give those people any more of our money than that!

Despite how Mike and I felt about it, Michael loved it!  He was very tired, since we were there during nap time, and he asked to go home a couple of times.  But when we would get ready to go, something would catch his eye, and we would stay.  Mike and I were more than willing to leave if he wanted to!!

The highlight was definitely the elephant ride!  Like I said, we forked out $12 to take one short lap around the ring, but Michael was in awe!!  He was able to reach down and touch its ear, and he thought that was so cool!  Mike tried getting some good pics, but the camera was having trouble focusing in there, so he only got a couple.

I am sure MJ will be telling his friends all about it at school tomorrow!!

Secondary Infertility

Yuck. That sounds awful, but that is what we have been diagnosed with.

"Secondary infertility is defined as the inability to become pregnant, or to carry a pregnancy to term, following the birth of one or more biological children. "

Mike and I went to a fertility specialist on Monday. After Mike checked out ok, we discussed our next steps.

1. Blood tests - 9 vials worth of blood was sucked out of me Monday.

2. More blood tests - 3 more blood tests will be done on me in about 2 weeks.

3. If all checks out ok with #1 & #2, I get to have a fun procedure called a HSG. Google it if you really want to know the fun I have in store!

4. If we still have no answers, and no pregnancy, we go to an injected fertility drug. This will most likely be Follistim, or Gonal-F. Again, feel free to Google. The injections are expensive, generally not covered by insurance, and increase our odds of having twins. Mike is really not cool with that! So we have to consider a lot of things before agreeing to do this.

5. If we are not poor, and I am not going through menopause by the time we get to this step (LOL), we can consider IUI. Let Google be your friend today!

So there ya go. More than you probably cared to know about our situation, huh? Anyway. We are REALLY hoping to not have to go past #3, but only time will tell!! We are praying for a sibling for MJ very soon!!

Spending Time Outside

It has been so nice outside, and we have been taking advantage of it!  Here are some pics from today.

Norah Update

I am so sorry I have been neglecting my blog! But for those of you that prayed for little Norah...the prayers worked! The doctors believe what they are seeing on the scans is scar tissue, and all of her tests have come back clear!

Prayers Needed

Some of you may recall my request for prayers last year, about this same time. Prayers for a little girl named Norah, who is Michael's age. She was diagnosed with a brain tumor, which was operated on, and followed by radiation. Her treatments were done in November, followed by a period of isolation.

Well, she just had an MRI last week, and they heard the results yesterday. There are some areas of concern, and they want to follow up with a PET scan to know for sure what they are seeing. Please pray for this amazing little girl, that they find nothing, and the areas of concern are only scar tissue. Norah and her family have been through so much this past year. This scan needs to be clear!!!

Today

The weather:  Mostly cloudy, high around 50. (It is currently 51!)

Plans for this week: Try to get the boy outside to play!

I am wearing: Jeans (duh), button front brown-stripped blouse, sketchers

I am feeling:  blah.  Have a headache, a back ache, and a cough that won't go away!!

I am hearing:  The radio.  Current song playing: John Mayer "Gravity"

I am thankful for:  My family

I am wondering why:  I can't come up with something exciting to post in my blog.

I am contemplating:  Whether to eat leftovers for lunch, or go to Subway.

MJ:  His behavior is so much better this week.  I think the issues he had at school last week were mainly from his adjusting to a new classroom and a new teacher.  Everyday he asks to go outside and ride his bike after school.  Daddy usually rides with him, but I have opted to walk beside them, because they go toooooo slow!

For dinner tonight:  Not sure.  Mike went to the grocery store today, while I am here at work, so who knows what he bought!  If he hadn't gone, it would have been sloppy joes for us tonight!  LOL!

A photo:  My best friend today.  Yes, I know how unhealthy it is, but I need caffeine!  Please no lectures!  LOL!
