I love BabyLegs, so when I saw there was a giveaway of some BabyLegs over at the paper mama, I had to enter. One way I can get a chance to win, is to share the news here on my blog. So that is what I am doing!

Taken with my iPhone, so not the best quality, but I really like it.

Happy 8 Months Allie!
Today Allison Marie is 8 months old! I haven't taken any pictures of her yet today, so for now, I will just share a couple from our vacation. I swear I will post the rest soon!
So let’s see…another month has flown by, and baby girl is really growing up! I swear I picked her up yesterday and she felt a pound heavier. Or maybe I was just a little weak and tired yesterday. Could have been either!
So, what new things has she been up to this past month? She is now eating Stage 2 baby food. I started off still giving her fruits and veggies. However, today I just picked up her first meats – beef, ham, chicken, and turkey. I will give one to her tonight, and see how she likes it!
Still no great progress with a sippy cup.
Her sleeping is getting much better! She is now waking up around 5-5:30 wanting a bottle. Well, with the exception of last week. She was up a lot while we were on vacation, but I expected that. But I am thrilled that she is almost sleeping until my alarm goes off in the morning!
This month our goals are to work with her more on crawling. She really, really hates being on her tummy, so this has been a challenge. But I am going to be doing more tummy time with her to see if we can’t get her a –moving!
She is babbling like crazy. I have video or her saying “mamamamama” and “dadadada”. She is also saying “babababababa” and “wawawawa”. I know it is not much, but I just love to hear her. She also has been doing this shrill scream. She is not mad or crying – it is just her way of making some noise. She does it a lot for daddy while they are driving to daycare. He says she does it most of the ride there, and it is not too enjoyable. Poor guy.
No teethers yet. It still amazes me that I swore she was cutting a tooth several months ago, but nothing ever surfaced. I know it is best if they take longer to come in, but I am anxious and excited for the first break through.
We are seeing/hearing her do some of the same things MJ did around this time. She is putting the back of her hand to her mouth and moving it away and back while humming, making a sort of Indian call. She will also say “aaahhh” if you put your own hand to her mouth and move it away and back. Very cute. She is also making gurgling sounds like Chewbacca (sp?) from Stars Wars. MJ did these things too. It makes us laugh every time!
I think that is all we have for this month's update. Until next month...ta ta!
Eating avocado for the first time. She loved it!
Just hanging out

Not Me! Monday
Have you done something this week that you are ashamed to admit, but need to get it off your chest? If so, this blog carnival is for you! MckMama created "Not Me! Monday" out of her desire to admit some imperfections and reveal a few moments she’d rather forget. You may find it therapeutic to join in and do the same thing!
Here's mine, with a little help from Allie.
I did not take time out during my vacation to check my google reader and catch up on some blog reading. Not Me! I was on vacation and vowed to stay away from the internet for the week, and I would not break that vow! Even if it is quick and easy from my phone to get connected, I can certainly resist the temptation for 7 measley days!
Also, while on vacation to the beach, I did not allow my daughter to dig her hands in the sand and then bring her hand to her lips, comsuming some of it. Not me! Although it makes a cute picture, and she is enjoying herself, that is completely unsanitary! What's E. Coli?

Hitting the road!
Well, this may be the last time I blog for a little while. Me and the kiddos are hitting the road! Tomorrow we are going to spend a Day Out With Thomas, and then it is off to a rental house on Lake Michigan for a week. Sadly, the Hubs will not be joining us. He has a full work schedule ahead of him, but he is going to try to join us for a day or two. The lake house is only a short drive from home, so it shouldn't be too bad for him. I secretly think he is looking forward to having the house to himself!
I do have an app on my phone that will allow me to blog, so I may use that, but I am sure the posts will be brief if I do.
Until then - MUAH!

the paper mama Photo Challenge: Orange
When I saw that the theme this week was "orange" I figured I probably would not enter anything this week. But as I looked through my photos, I found tons of orange! I looked at a couple different photos, but I kept coming back to this one. It was taken with my phone's camera, so it is not the best quality. But I love it! This captures my son's personality so much. He is always making animal noises, and the "growl" is his favorite.

Not Me! Monday
This weekend I most certainly did not eat a chocolate cupcake after my son licked all the icing off of it. I mean, I am on a diet, and would never consume those unneeded calories, or eat something my son had already licked all over! I have so much more self-control than that!
While trying to make dinner tonight, I did not yell out loud "Calgon, take me away!" when there was water boiling over on the stove, both kids were crying, the dog was barking, and then the phone rang. I am cool as a cucumber under pressure and would not break down like that.
I did not bribe my son with $1 to in order for him to get ready for bed faster. He is always eager to get his bath done, get his pajamas on, and brush his teeth. I never have to tell him more than once to complete these tasks, so bribery would be unnecessary.
Anything you haven't done this past week? Please share and link up over at MckMama's blog !

Baptism
This weekend, our sweet little girl was baptised. Although I had hoped to be more organized, and have it done earlier, we still managed to do it at an earlier age then Michael's. He was almost one year old. So, I don't feel too badly about it when I look at it that way.
Like with Michael, we chose to have a private ceremony for Allison's baptism. Our family and her godparents were the only ones in attendance, and it was perfect for us.
Here are just a few photos from the just before the ceremony, and during.

After the ceremony, we invited everyone back to our house for a small cookout. It was very nice. We ate, conversed, and Allison helped open her special gifts.
And there were cupcakes!
Having fun with bows!
And then Allison CRASHED.
Thanks to those that shared this very special day with us!
Got To Wear Shades!
This is my first time entering a photo challenge over at Iheartfaces

I follow their blog, but have never entered, because I guess I just don't feel like my photos are up to the same caliber that most of the entries are. But this week I wanted to enter because I have the perfect photo for the "Got To Wear Shades" theme. I just love this photo, and want to share it! I am entering for fun, not necessarily to win. Although it would be cool to win. Or at least get an honorable mention.
So, without further ado, here is my entry. It was taken just yesterday, so it is fresh off the camera! We were hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa Kissel, poolside. I love summer, and I know the kids do, too!

I love giveaways on blogs!
Of course I have yet to win one, but the thought that I might one day win is fun! This is one that I really would love to win. It is an online photography class. I have my DSLR in auto mode most of the time, and I really need to learn to get into more manual functions. Anyway, the paper mama is hosting a giveaway right here from Faith over at Simplicity. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Allison Overload
I feel like I have been posting a lot about MJ and his recent adventures this past month. Well, since he is the more active one right now, he just happens to be the one getting caught in a lot of the summer activity photos. However, I have been taking pictures of Miss A too. Although she is not running, jumping, swimming, wheeling, frogging, bugging, slippin' and slidin', painting, and bowling, she is still a big part of our lives! So this post is dedicated to my beautiful daughter.
How is that for an Allison fix??
