Allison at 21 months

I seem to be behind in everything else, so why not Miss Allie's 21-month post?  She turned 21 months on September 30th.  I hang my head in slacker shame.

The one thing that has really changed with Allison in the past 3 months has been her vocabulary.  Not only has she been adding new words everyday, she has been forming 2-4 word sentences!  Some of the ones I can think of off the top of my head are:

"What you/Daddy/Michael doing?"
"I'm coming!"
"Where Michael/Daddy at?"
"Put baby's coat on!"
"Oh my gosh!"
"Night-night, Daddy!"
"I go bye-bye!"
"Brush teeth!"
"Wash hands!"
"I do/did it!"

And yes, I realize I put an exclamation point at the end of most of those.  For good reason.  She is always yelling.  Especially when she is tyring to get my attention.  She starts out with a modest "Mommy!"  If I don't look at her right away, she says "Mommy!" a little louder.  If I still don't answer or acknowledge her, She gets really loud, "MOMMY!  MOMMY!  MOMMY!" until I finally say "What?"  I am considering changing my name.

Another new thing is that she asks for help.  She will come to me and say, "Mommy, help!"  She will stand there and stare at me until I start to walk towards her, and then she will lead me to whatever she needs.  It is usually retrieve a toy or to get something unstuck from some crevice.

Her hair is out of control.  It is getting sooo long.  It really needs cut, but I am having a hard time bringing myself to do it.  Well, I don't mean that I am planning to cut it myself.  I can't bring myself to make an appointment for a professional to cut it.  I know it needs cut, and it will, some day.

She loves to count!  It goes a little something like this:  "Oooone, Twoooo, Eeeeee, Twooooo, Eeeeee, Sis, Even, tate, nine, nine, two..."  I am super impressed.  She says the numbers like she is singing, and it is super cute!

Well, it is getting late, so I will end with a couple of sweet pictures of my almost 2 year old. Yikes!  How can that be??

Our 7th Year Anniversary!

Wow.  I started this blog entry on September 19th, and here it is, almost a month later and I am just now finishing it.  I hope I haven't lost the few loyal readers that I had!  For those of you still reading, I won't bore you with the excuses I always have when this happens.  So I will just get on with it.

On September 18th, Mike and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary.  But since the 18th fell on a Sunday this year, we observed it a day early, and shipped the kids off to Aunt Cindi and Uncle Jake's for an overnight stay Saturday night.

We started the evening by heading to one of our favorite restaurants, The Vine.  It has quickly become our "usual" spot for our special day.  We love the atmosphere, the staff, and the food is delicious.  We also tend to order the same entrees when we go.  I get the filet, and Mike loves the salmon.  Yum!

We managed to talk the server into taking our picture.  She was great, and even had us move to another area inside the restaurant in order to have a nice background.

After dinner, we wanted to take advantage of the beautiful evening, and went for a stroll along the river walk.  I also wanted to try out my new camera!

We were going to walk to Dairy Queen for a frosty treat, but got lazy and opted to drive instead.  Since I had been dieting, I was really looking forward to some sinful indulgence!  I was not disappointed!

It was a lovely, quiet evening.  Perfect.  I wouldn't have changed a thing!

Oh!  I almost forgot!  The hubs also gave me a dozen beautiful roses!  They lasted well over a week!

I think I will keep him around a little longer.  Love you, honey!
